Enjoy a heady night at a ball in a tasteful atmosphere, let lilting waltzes and international hits get you in the mood to dance and discover, at a Viennese Ball, the attitude towards life in a city with tradition. Here we have outlined for you the sequence of events at the internationally successful "Viennese Ball" with all the traditional /favorite program points and offer you selected suggestions for an entertaining & effective artistic program. 8:00 pm - Entrance into the Hall Upon arriving in the foyer, your guests are welcomed musically with Classical and Viennese melodies played by the Viennese Ladies Orchestra "Tempo di Valse". At about 9:00 pm the ball guests converge in the ballroom, scattered about upon the dance floor, and wait expectantly for the opening of the ball... 9:00 pm - Opening of the Ball The festive tones of the Herald trumpets' sound, hailing the opening of the traditional Viennese ball. Then follows the ceremonial procession of the guests of honor onto the stage and the guests take their places in front of the ball orchestra. Impressive for all your guests is the procession of the leading dance couples with the dancing master onto the dance floor which follows to the tones of a polonaise played by the Viennese Ball Orchestra Johann Strauss. The opening committee presents itself with special contredanses, waltzes, polkas or marches. Subsequent to that, acting in your role as presenter of the ball, you will address your guests with a few opening remarks. Afterwards, the leading couples dance a short opening waltz and you or our dancing master will invite the ball guests to join the dance with the classic words "Alles Walzer" (everybody waltz!) - the successful up-beat to a heady ball night... 9:45 pm - Dance Music The best atmosphere and dancing mood in the hall as well as the correct choice of standard dances is provided for by not only the Viennese Ball Orchestra Johann Strauss with its waltzes, polkas, fox trots, tangos & English waltzes but also by Gerhard Aflenzer & His Broadway Big band with a fantastic mixture of rock 'n roll, fox trot, slow fox, quickstep, jive, slow waltzes and Latin American numbers. During the next 3 hours, the two ensembles alternate seamlessly at 30 minute intervals so that your guests have the possibility to dance at all times and thereby insuring that the ball may be enjoyed to the fullest. 11:30 pm - Midnight Interlude Although there is still half an hour until midnight, you already offer your guests a treat with the appearance of either Magic Christian, the best-known magician in Austria or the dynamic, young show-dance group DancEmotion, so that at midnight the traditional "Audience's Quadrille" can take place. After the midnight interlude, shortly before midnight, our dancing master asks your ball guests to take part in the "Audience's Quadrille" on the dance floor. Now begins what is probably the most popular program point of every Viennese ball... 12:00 midnight - the "Audience's Quadrille" A particular ball specialty from Vienna: the ball guests take their places in long lines, facing each another and our dancing master begins his moderation and the direction of the six part "Fledermaus Quadrille" of Johann Strauss, jr. which follows. After a short explanation of the dance steps, the ball orchestra plays as introduction the first "tour" - the French expression for the individual parts of the quadrille. For the next 20 minutes, the ball guests take the center stage - many are surprisingly gifted dancers, others try to follow the instructions of our dancing master with amusement. 12:30 am - Selected dance music played by both ensembles provides for a spirited atmosphere among the guests until 4:00 am. 4:00 am - The elegant finale of a Viennese ball follows in the best tradition of Viennese music. After the ball orchestra has officially taken its leave of the audience with the last Viennese waltz of the night, they play, in conclusion, the famous song "Brüderlein fein" - a dreamy, almost sentimental ending for an outstanding event.
